Master Craftsman, Josef Chow, a very patient knowledgeable man help me choose the type of leather which I am seeking , with his advise . Choose this piece of Vegetable Tanned Leather .
Armed with my home-made template , borrowed some tools from him . Within minutes , Josef helped me cut to size 23cm x 58cm . Marked all the hole punch locations and slots for my fountain pens.
Started punching 2mm holes and slicing slots for the fountain pen . Can you see the dark red line marked on my pointing finger ? It is the result of cutting the tough leather slowly in precision .
Taking occasional 10 minutes Coffee Break to relief my painful finger. Took almost 45 minutes just cutting up 20 little slots . Resulting in this .
